Introduction

This page is devoted to Ramalinga Swamigal teaching that is being spread in Russia.

Disciples of Laya-yoga Monastery-Academy “Guhya Samadja” founded in 1995 in Russia will keep the page. Monastery rector, Russian enlightened Master of practical Advayta Swamy Vishnu Dev has been training with Indian Guru Swamy Brahmananda Shri Shivaprabhakara Siddhayogi Paramhasar for a long time. Teaching traditions of the Monastery include several lineages one of which runs back to the line of  Tamil siddhas. Ramalinga, a Tamil saint, is one of the most honored saints in the Monastery.

Swamy Vishnu Dev considers the principle of commitment to the divine source to be the supreme path in spiritual practice. He founded Ramalinga department that specializes on searching and studying materials connected with Ramalinga, translating his book into Russian and spreading Ramalinga teaching.

Swamy Vishnu Dev gave many lectures on the Ramalinga way of realization, gave comments on his works, monks wrote several treatises analyzing different aspects if his teaching and stages of his life. Ramalinga sculpture was made, bhajans worshiping the saint were written; pujas are conducted every week.

Ramalinga department will tell about spreading of Ramalinga teaching in the north on this page. The selected lectures of the monastery rector that clarify deep aspects of Ramalinga teaching will be put here.

Most respected Alexender ji,
Although I should appreciate your project,
I am in confusion that many interpretations by many like vedas and agamas, as admitted and instructed by Vallalar, His teachings are also handled by many sects by many way.
Project is fine. Image is also necessary.
What about the Grace Light ?
How you are going to present it ?
May I know more ?

Monk Laya-yoga Monastery-Academy “Guhya Samadja” answers:
We ourselves do not write anything about the Grace Light, we only translate, read and synchronize Ramalinga texts from time to time.
It is well known that Ramalinga did not leave any definite disciplines-heirs after his death, as well as any concrete yoga methods or his own proper philosophy. However he left enormous inspiration, blessings and sacred bhava that is in his songs and that exists in his very life and biography.
These are the moments that make Ramalinga so attractive for us. His blessing appeared in blissful visions that Guru and monastery monks had in years 2001-2002. That is why his image was the first one to have been created in the monastery and now we make this project.
We are not going to write anything about the Grace Light ourselves, for us it is enough to deify him as a great saint and to read his inspiring texts. We think that if people find out about him and get his blessings within their spiritual schools, and if our followers get his blessings within our school, this will be the best and it will be enough. Moreover, it will fully correspond Ramalinga principles.
We do not make a claim for any special interpretation of the Ramalinga teaching, it is better to preserve it as it is, because his teaching is beyond conceptual teachings and it belongs to the whole humanity. We have had our teaching -Laya-yoga - for a long time, we do not search for anything spiritual outside, but we mainly give. We practice our teaching, we value and respect it, independent from Ramalinga texts and we think that anyone who follows his path will also be blessed.
Speaking about our teaching, it is revealed on the monastery site. Our philosophy - classical Advaita - Vedanta in interpretation of Vasishtha, Dattatreya, Shankara is revealed in their texts and by Guru Swami Vishnu Dev.
We do not have any special interpretations of Ramalinga teaching (however we undoubtedly have point of view on processes of contemplation, self-commitment, self-recognition, Anugraha invocation, the very Ramalinga realization) however it would be necessary to write a separate thick multi-volume treatise to reveal them.
We sing bhajans to Ramalinga, make Prasad devoted to Ramalinga, read his texts, sometimes write reports and make theatrical performances on life of the saint.
Our Laya-yoga five yanta teaching is deep and integral and it perfectly suits Ramalinga philosophy.
However it is not possible to reveal even basic principles of our teaching in one letter, therefore for a more precise knowledge of the teaching you may get some information from books. For the present moment only one book of all written by Swami Vishnu Dev has been translated into English: - http://advayta.org/item/000012/?id=32 - The Code of Masters.

Ramalinga Swamigal in Russia
The Commitment Path
Swamy Vishnu Dev

The commitment path that demonstrated great saint Ramalinga is not identical to dual practices of commitment in Vaishnav teachings and other dual traditions. Although on the highest levels they all should definitely lead to the same result, however, on low levels the difference between dual practices of worshiping and commitment to the chosen God and the self-transcendention practice is crucial. The difference is that a bhakta remains in the conceptual understanding of his God, in Read more...

The answer of the monk Laya-yoga Monastery-Academy “Guhya Samadja”:
"On the whole, Russian society is free from religion and as a rule adopts Christianity (Orthodoxy). But those who go into yoga for the first time, or those who already have an acquaintance with it invariably have a positive reaction. The Doctrine of Ramalinga is clear, understandable, presented to a heart, and all this can be sensed by everyone. Everybody who goes into Doctrine of Ramalinga perceives it with devotion and awe, many people have spiritual experiences even just listening to translations of his poems.
We plan translate all the books of Ramalinga, that will be available"

Very nice to hear the devotional song and the way of its melody.
Let it grow and the Suddha Sanmarga preaching of St. Ramalinga - spread all over Russia by the earnest and sinere efforts taken at this St. Petersburg Monestry.
Praying to Lord Arutperunjothi and St.Ramalinga for its immediate reaction all over Russia and to bring all the people to the pathway shown by St.Ramalinga.
