I have been in the sanmargam for the past 6 months. Its strange the way i got to learn about swami ramalingam. As a hindu i always felt that may of the practices in the religion to be wrong. I always questioned them. although there were many explnations i was not satisfied. i did not know where to head. neither did i shearch. in fact i feel that i was guided by devine grace. Im an orthopaedic surgeon by practice. In 2004 i was offred a job in a private hospital by the hospital ceo. His name was Dr Aruljoethi. Strange but true. I did extremely well in my practice. but a another part of me was umhappy spriritually. i was then introduced to sungai petani town arulperumjothi nilayam. i listened to speeches by swami tharmalingam and now im coninced that this is the true path. this path doesnt differentiate people based on race religion or worse still caste. I have become a vegetarian. every fridays we attend tiruarutpa classes. i still have alot to learn about the sanmargam. i have many questions that are unanswered. i hope the will through this forum

Please post some news about what is going on with your ThiruArutpa classes, so that we all get to know.
Thanks for your response. The centre i go to is known as Arulperumjothi Nilayam. Its situated in Sungai petani, Malaysia. We meet every fridays. We sing vallalars songs and for about 30mins we discuss hi teachings. This classes are mainly for some 30childer that attent the weekly session. Once evey month we have a visiting speaker, Swami Tharumalingam who peaks to us about the Arutpa. The last six month that Ive attended this centre he spoke about the Arul vilaka malai. Its through these songs and swamis explanation that i ve become attracted to vallalars teaching. I believe this is the right path. being a vegetarian with his blessing has not been so tough. My wife and i a fully vegetarian. our two ons are nearly there.
Some of the questions that i have include. Vallalar says that the arulperumjothi maha mandiram is the most powerful manthiram. we dont have to chant other mandirams. We donts have to pray to other deities/gods. how does one make this drastic change. how do u staop praying to ganesh/murugan/sivan ect. we were thought to pray to them from a young age. how does one give that up.

On seeing Ur mail, felt very happy.
Some time back, at Malaya university, the first world Siddhars' Conference was held 3 days during the month of May, 2007. Being the participant of that meeting writing this reply to U. Even though Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar has shown the right path, the Suddha Sanmargam, nobody told anything about it in the above meeting except one person by name Subramaniam. Thiru Apna Nagappan, who is running the Agathiyar Sanmgam at Paddhu Caves, Malaya organised the 3 days Conference with the help of Thiru Rajendran, Professor working in the Malaya University.
Vallalar instructed not to worship small gods (Siru
Deiva Vazhipaadu Koodathu). Because they are getting
the power from a Supreme God.
So also U mentioned that U have the custom of
worshipping Lord Shiva, Muruga, other Gods.
They all have been vested with some powers.
Brahma-Creating and the other Gods are doing individual
works.
From Ur mail it seems that U are a Physiotherapy Doctor.
In a District Hqrs Hospital in Tamil Nadu, there
will be one Higher Officer in the level of District Medical
Officer. He will control all the subordinates, working
in the Hospital . e.g surgeons, urologist, dentist,.wing
by wing.
So also in Tamil Nadu, in every District Headquarter,
there is one District Collector to control the functions
of all the various Departments and the Officers working in that District.
He is acting as a District Collector on behalf
of the State Government. So every subordinate has to
attend the meeting called on by the District Collector. Besides doing their individual item of work, they have to get the guidelines of the
District Collector at regular intervals and to do their job
according to the instructions given by the District
Collector.
Likewise, for the Gods so far we know in the name
of Lord Shiva, Parvathy, Ganesha, Muruga, Brahma, Vishnu
and others - They all are getting divine powers from the One Supreme
God Arutperunjothi. This is what our Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar found out and informed to all the Sanmargis. He has quoted this in the Perubadesam. The Gods hitherto worshipped have only lesser power. (far below level).
There are 4 ways to reach God. Sariyai, Kiriyai, yogam, Gnanam. If U follow the Suddha Sanmarga principles as was preached by Thiru Arutprakasa Vallal, U are elevated to the level of 15th stage i.e. Gnanathil Yogam. This is what Our Vallal peruman informed.
U may be knowing Dr.Abdul Kalam, former President of
India. He is a native of Rameswaram village. He studied at
Schwartz Hr.Secondary School, Ramnad. Unmarried. Pure vegetarian. His thoughts and further studies elevated him to the level of President of India.
If a person belonging to the native place of Dr.Abdul Kalam, who knows him personally, in case if he wants to meet him while he was holding the post of President of India will inform him through a
representation or a letter recalling the earlier memories. Immediately on receiving the letter, according to the convenience, the former President will direct his subordinates to call that person and meet him.
If such representations are made through the lower level officers, they will not permit him quoting him the various procedures and security systems. U may be now knowing the difference between the worship of God so far, and now the Arutperunjothi - One Supreme God.
Why such elaboration is given here is that, U have now come straight to the Sanmarga Pathway shown by Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar.
So having come to the right path, you do not think, the earlier ways.
Kindly go through Perubadesam, Thiru Arutpa and Jeevakarunya Ozhukkam. That will give U the proper guidelines.
Vanakkam.
Sariyai is worshiping the God with our body.
Kiriyai is worshiping the God with our words.
Yogam is worshiping the God within us
Gnanam is known as understanding all about everything including God.
Sariyai starts soon after we were born.
Kiriyai starts soon after we can talk which is @ age 7.
Yogam (Meditation) starts soon after we are grown enough which is at least @ age 16.
Gnanam is the result from Yogam.
Unfortunately, most people end their life in Sariyai or Kiriyai.
We are in darkness in Sariyai and Kiriyai.
We get light within us only from Yogam.
Our school education is complete only after the collage study. Similarly, our spiritual study is completed in Gnanam.
All mantras is meant for to create some good vibration(Good thoughts) in our mind.
All mantras explain the god not in very much clear.
But Arutperujothi MahaMantra reveals the god real state very clearly.
Please go through Perubhadesam by vallalar.
you will get more clear information.
Try to practice Arutperujothi MahaMantra regularly.
MahaMantra only contains all vowels(
Uyir Elluthu-Tamil
).
By Practice,Other mantras disappear.
One more information : Inside MahaMantra all mantras are there.

i also know that this path is not easy. it is not going to be easy to release oneself from the clutches of religion. i know of many members of the sanmargam who continue their past practices. im not sure if i can completely change myself. i will have to try. saying the mahamantiram repeatedly helps alot. it makes me more focused. i feel more compassion in me now.

President Abdul kalam didn't become vegetarian knowing it's importance. It happened to him from the poverty he faced at his childhood. He now enjoys its benefit.
