DESTINY -KARMA
From the very beginning of world’s existence, the biggest controversy which is being debated among the saints, scholars, academicians, and other people is nothing but the destiny. Can we change it? Or will it take its own course?
People say that the Man is reborn for the fulfillment of his karma. He sows, so he reaps. The law of karma is the chain that ties man to the wheel of birth and rebirth. Through karma man is bound and through the same he can get free. Karma proves to be the cause of his bondage as long as a man clings to the temporal, but when he turns to the eternal bliss, karma opens the way to freedom.
The twofold doctrine is based on a comprehensive and consistent view of human personality comprising its present, past, and future. It accounts for the settled facts of life. Indeed the doctrine of destiny a sequence of law of nature has its supporters among the world’s theologians, philosophers, mystics, scientists, poets, and psychologists.
Now a days , Many people argue that the Saint Valluvar has quoted clearly in the following kurals that the laws of nature (Destiny) could not be changed very easily, As the laws of nature (fate or destiny) is beyond our control.
வகுத்தான் வகுத்த வகையல்லால் கோடி
தொகுத்தார்க்கு துய்த்தல் அரிது. 377
Save as the 'sharer' shares to each in due degree,
To those who millions store enjoyment scarce can be. 377
Even those who gather together millions will only enjoy them, as it has been determined by the disposer (of all things).
The disposer is treated here as the almighty or omnipotent. Nature will take its own course and it will determine that who is going to enjoy them. That is why many people argue that the almighty or the omnipotent only determines the enlightened person, to whom the Dikshai is offered through his grace. (Thiruvarul) Nothing will happen except- otherwise his grace alone.
ஊழிற் பெருவலி யாவுள மற்றொன்று
சூழினுந் தான்முந் துறும்.- 380
What powers so great as those of Destiny? Man's skill
Some other thing contrives; but fate's beforehand still -380
What is stronger than fate? If we think of an expedient (to avert it), it will itself be with us before (the thought).
All the effort taken by the people may not fetch desired result or may not reach the pre-determined goal, as the destiny is stronger than our human effort.
As the worldly life perceives more and more obstacles or hindrances, many people think that “Whatever is happening is happening through the way of destiny or Karma”, and taking atonement or any other activities will not fetch fruitful success.
