Jothi Glazing
Hi,

Antone got the information for Jothi Glazing?

Where can I find information on the light glazing techniques?

Why must we do Jothi Glazing?

yes. lets discuss this!
1st of all. The term is gazing, not glazing.
I have a lot of information on Joti gazing.
1. Use natural light, not electric.
2. Squint, gaze through the water in the eyes, like a little bit of tears.
3. Observe that the external vision is actually happening in the space between the eyebrows.
4. Relax the mind and do not let thoughts come between mind and object of vision.
5. If one is gazing at stars, moon, or candle falme look right at the source or gaze off to the right to see it.
6. If one is using the Sun, gaze a good bit below the sun (obvious I hope) and look through the ray one sees connecting the Sun and your Heart.
7. When the bindus appear, find the brightest one (one that is very bright at its core...avoid the one dark at their core) and gaze right into it.
8. Do not move the eyes. Avoid blinking or any movement what so ever.
9. Recognize the Jothi as Jothi.
10. Pray to God and to Our Guru for elevation and assistance.
11. Making a popping sound and exhaling all of the air out through clenched teeth is very useful. (Vallalar said PIC; some say Pat or Phet....a syllable for Shiva.) This will help the vision to stabilize.
12. If using the Sun, gaze in the very early morning as it just crests the horizon....then you will see the Golden Brilliance. If you absorb this through the eyes into the depth of yourself....and merge out into the rays (same thig really)....you will be amazed at the beuaty of this Golden Light.
13. If one begins gazing in dreams and as one falls asleep, then one's mind is merging into this light. This happens very quickly.

In the subject of Reg Vallalar Meditation, the meditation techniques only teach the concentration or imagination that there is a flame in between the eye brow.
Jothi Gazing is not introduced at all for the meditation practice.
So is meditation and Jothi Gazing both a separate practice?
Or they should be practiced together?

It is true that I haven't found mention of this exact method in Vallalar writing. However, there are many, many reasons to believe that he practiced this. First of all the fact that he used the lamp in his Murugan vision during childhood and during his great invokation of Arutperunjothi. Likewise, the fact that his eyes (particularly his right eye) became super energized and light came forth from them. There are also accounts of villagers witnessing a visible ray of light connecting Him with the Sun, when he say outside his house.
This method is always used in Light Theurgy, and it is ever mentioned in connection with transformation of the body. The book Introduction to the philosophy of Saint Ramalingam, makes a couple of precise references to this method as essential in transformation of the body. This quote details the relation of external lights with the internal faculties. He says sun corresponds to Soul, while the lamp corresponds to the Anma.
The Divine Light shines in four levels, the inmost, inner, outer and the outermost. In Pinda, the human system, anma, the soul is the inmost, and its consciousness knows the truth of a thing; jeevan is the inner being and its consciousness knows the use of a thing; the outer is the instrumental nature, karana, and its consciousness knows by discrimination of mind about the name and form, and qualities, good or bad, of a thing; the outermost is of the bodily sense organs-Indriyas such as eye, and its perceptive knowledge is to perceive a thing by perception without mental discrimination as to the name, form and qualities good or bad of the thing. Similarly there can be visions seen by the inmost soul, the inner jeevan, and by the outer instrumental being. So too in Anda the universal Nature, Agni is the inmost, sun the inner, moon the outer, and stars the outermost…Now the causal manifestation (Karana) of the divine Light takes place in Pinda the human body, at Ajna, the mid centre between the eyebrows; and for Anda the universal, in Paramakasa, the supreme Ether of Sky or Space. The causal-effectual manifestation (Karya-Karana) takes place in Sarvayoni, i.e. in the Womb of all created beings and things in the bindu of lightning and in the nada of thunder.”
In my own practice, after gazing at a candle flame for several evenings, a stable bidu appeared around the flame, which wouod remain visible even if i moved the candle/lamp right up to my face. Inside this bindu, where the flame is, I could see a luminous seated yogi. Like the bindu of light, this person could be seen clearly from all angles and even if i put the candle right up to my face.
A note i didn't include was in lamp gazing, one can invoke the presence of God into the Lamp, as Vallalar did, wishing to bring the power of Vast Greace Light onto this plane, to accelerate evolution and bring all blessings of Grace.
Also, if one greets the Sun just as it is dawning...and gazes upward at the space between the brows, so that the ray appears there, one really see the golden light in the Temple.
So far as meditation being separate, I think we should spend some time with internal light and some time with external light. At a point these are the same...until then we work with them seperate. Alway pray to Vast Grace Light with Mantra. I discovered to recite internal mantra while gazing at external light and recite outloud when meditaing in internal dimension.

It is interesting that the Typo occured....for many glazes for ceramic lamps contain lead. The ancient light practitioners always specified that a lamp should not be glazed with lead, as this will attract negative beings.

Dear Brother David,
I would say that this is nothing but Jothi Workshiping. This method is used to realize yourself as a light i.e your Anma/Soul as a light/Jothi. This is the basic principles of this practise. This way one can realize oneself's Anma/soul as a Jothi. Jothi Gazing is a starting point for Sanmargi. That's why Vallalar said I am keeping this lamp here, workship this by singing songs from 'The great life of deathlessness'
1. must be done only in the early morning around/ between 4:00am and 6am. And it should not be practised any other time
2. Use a good mat (may be white color) and sit in a posture like you see in Vallalar photo.
3. place a oil lamp in front of you. the oil must be either one of Ghee or sesame seed oil. Use a cotton thread to light up.
If you get a clay made lamp , that is so good. But in the modern world you may not get that lamp easily I guess but other type of lamp is ok but the Oil is very important. Anyother oil or candle can be used but may give problem to your health since you are going to sit near that. Vallalar is instructing to use Ghee as the first choice and then Sesame oil.
4. Put a purity fence around you by saying, ArutperunJothi Vallalar is around me, ArutperunJothi arul is protecting me all the time. Now close your eyes and do a Aagni Meditation (i.e) focus your thoughts in between eyebrows. Medidate for about 15mins or so, . Once you feel the stress-free stage, just slowly open your eyes bit by bit and gaze or worship at the flame for about 2mins. Now close your eyes bit by bit and repeat this as many times as you like. Every gaze / worshipping give a sufficient interval like do a 10/15min mediation and then gaze.
Note : You can practise the above in general. But how good your Aagni meditation spot is also important as well. People just say do a mediation in between eybrows but you need to feel that sort of heat there. Generally it is not that easy to bring the real heat there and it depends on the person. Yogi's do this for long years to get the heat there. As a quick approach to get this Aagni spot activation, you must be blessed and activated by a real Guru who has that heat so much or experianced Sanmargi or a from true YOGI . Also you should know how to bring back down otherwise it will lead into troubles.

gazing is to control mind
you gaze at something without wandering your mind
if you can gaze at something for 32 minutes without being disturbed by external world you have attained the success
your third eye will be open whatever you wish comes true and whatever you want to see future, past comes before your eyes
but for practicing gazing you must not involve in world matters
go to a secluded place for three months
many people in india who can gaze can tell that Jesus was not crucified
they have turiya or third eye and they can look at past
but when you are involved in worldly affairs gazing becomes difficult
your energy gets wasted
or you have to practice karma yoga - not to work for the fruits of your labour
I try to gaze the starts
my time for gazing increases daily but whenever i work in the computer my gazing power decreases
you must not have sex
so practice celebacy. after sex you can not gaze for more than one minute. your energy will be drained
you must not waste your energy if you want to extend your gazing
eat vegetarian
practice raja yoga
for quick success
if you can gaze for more than 10 minutes you can do hypnotism and memserising easily
also practicing japa increases gazing power
