This web-site is dedicated to the millions of needy children in India and all over the world. Siddha Sakthi Arutjothi Vallalar Kalvi Nilayam is an organization trying to make a difference in the lives of these deprived children since 1952.

Located at Lingathadimedu, a village in Southern part of India, at about 290 kms (182 miles) south of Chennai city (known as Madras earlier) in rural setting at the junction of two rivulets. This place is very near to the Arasu Cement Factory(TANCEM), Ariyalur and also near Varadha Raja Perumal Swamy Koil at Kallankurichi. Started with the guidence from Thavathiru Murugananda Adigalaar in the year 1952 by one man K R Viswanathan MA lovingly known as KRV to fight for the most valuable resource of this world, OUR CHILDREN and has been serving the poor and downtrodden for 50 years.

It was registered under the Societies Act in the year 1953 as a non-profit Charitable Voluntary Organization serving the cause of the underpriviledged.

 


The organization consists of the following:

Thiruvalluvar Orphanage: This home consists of 125 orphaned children or children with single parents. The children are provided with free accommodation, food, clothing,education and health care. The age group of the children is from 6 to 18. The children are also given vocational training which might help them to survive in this world.

Thiruvalluvar Backwardclass Hostel: This home consists of 75 children whose parents are below poverty level. The children are provided with free accommodation, food, clothing,education and health care. The age group of the children is from 6 to 18.

Thiruvalluvar Home for Children: This home consists of 83 children whose parents are economically below poverty level and also backward. The children are provided with free accommodation, food, clothing,education and health care. The age group of the children is from 6 to 18.

Vallalar Dairy Unit: A dairy unit has been established to help uplift the economic life of the widows and poor women who are below poverty level. 20 such women were selected and given loan for purchase of cattle.

K.R. Viswanathan Middle School: Free education is provided to all the children. About 680 rural children are benefited and studying from 1st to 8th grade. The school was elevated as a High School in the year 1997-1998 and the first 10th grade students passed out in the year 1998-1999. The High School was degraded as a Middle School in the year 2007-2008. The  school is situated at Lingathdimedu.  About 450 rural children are studying from 1st grade to 8th grade. The 1st grade to 3rd grade classes are conducted at the nearby village Kairlabad and 4th to 8th grade are run at Lingathdimedu.

  • Donations made to S S A J Vallalar Kalvi Nilayam are exempt from Income Tax under 80 G of Income Tax Act, India.[no. 6162-E(34)/1999-2000/TRY Dt. 22-11-2000].
