44th year of Arutprakasa Vallalar-Mahatma Gandhi Function.

Every year, Ramalingar Pani Mandram, Guindy, Chennai celebrates the Arutprakasa Vallalar Mahatma Gandhi function at Chennai in a grand manner.

This year, being the 44th year of celebration, the function has been arranged at A.V.M. Rajeswari Marriage Hall, Mylapore, Chennai.

30.9.2009 Evening 6.00 p.m.

The function started with the Thiru Arutpa Song by S.Sowmya.

Arut Selvar Dr.N.Mahalingam, in his speech elaborated the necessity about conducting this function every year.

Thiru M.M. Rajendran, former Governor of Orissa State spoke about the philosiphy of Thiru Arutprakasa Vallalar, Mahatma Gandhi and the importance to follow them in every day walk of life.

Thiru Ma. Aranganathan, Anaimalai, was given Arutjothi Gandhi Memorial Award for the works done by him at Anaiyur by following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and for also running the School at Anamalai.

Thiru Ma. Aranganathan during his speech said that compassion towards the other living beings is necessarily to be followed by one and all. This principle attracted him and he is following this in his walk of life.

Then Thiru T. Ramalingam, Advocate Chennai and Dr. Ku. Gnanasambandhan, Professor, Madurai insisted all the participants to follow the principles of Vallalar and Gandhiji rigidly.

The meeting came to an end at about 8.30 p.m.
