WHEN WILL THE GRACE LIGHT BE REALIZED?

Vallalar says that no self -importance and self-respect should be given to us. As the “I” is the dominant factor and its one of the illusions, it will not show the supreme grace light.

To quote the Thiruvasagam here, Saint Manikka Vasagar says:

சிவன் அவன் என் சிந்தையுள் நின்றா அதனால்

அவன் அருளாலே அவன் தாள் வணங்கிச்……….

Because, He Civan, within my thoughts abides

By his grace alone, bowing before his feet………

Then he adds later as

நாயிற் கடையாய் கிடந்த அடியேற்கு

To me who lay mere slave –meaner than any dog.

The very important fact in the above lines are “once we say that by his grace alone, bowing before his feet” the ego will come to the mind that I have had his grace, and the god has showered his grace upon me. Hence he is afraid of that the word-I, so very carefully he uses later as “to me who lay mere slave-meaner than any dog.”

Therefore one should not first of all give more Self -respect / Self -importance to him/her by using the word “I”. Then only, the grace light will appear and will show his real face like Siva vakkiar says,

என்னிலே இருந்த ஒன்றை யான் அறிந்த தில்லையே

என்னிலே இருந்த ஒன்றை யான் அறிந்து கொண்டபின்

என்னிலே இருந்த ஒன்றை யாவர் காண வல்லரோ

என்னிலே இருந்திருந்து யான் உணர்ந்து கொண்டனே!
